Cupid calendar page

I'm not going to brag about having this calendar page done cause March's isn't done yet.  LOL
Our wonderful Mau has chosen us a theme of "Spots and Dot's" for this weeks challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil.
Since red is so hard to shade correctly I took the easy way out and paper pieced my heart.  This little sweetie is Mo's "Cupid in Love" which can be found in Mo's store.  The papers are a combo of this years and last years Valentine collections from Michaels.  I added some Martha Stewart microbeads to the die cut hearts for some fun.  Cupid was printed twice and I popped his head and wings up on foam.  His arms and the bow and arrow were adhered directly onto the bottom layer.

Copics Used:
skin--E000, E00, E11, E13, R20, R30
hair--E31, E33, E35, E50
bow--E53, E55, E57
arrow--E57, R59
wings--W1, W3

Once again sorry for the bad lighting on this pic.  My house is not photo friendly.

We'd love to have you come join in our fun this week for your chance at some Mo's goodies.
I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Party Time Tuesday--anything goes
Card Mania--angels or fairies
Eureka Stamps--anything goes
Make It Monday--anything goes
My Craft Spot--polka dots
The Pink Elephant--love
Frosted Designs--polka dots

     Happy Thursday!

Purple Zinnias

Oh boy was this card a challenge.  I find beautiful floral element cards to be so difficult cause you don't want to ruin the pretty image with a ugly background.  I have admired Flourishes Stamps for a long time, but have been a bit intimidated by them.  I was lucky enough to be able to purchase a few of the sets Beate Johns was selling (still totally depressed that she's giving up stamping).  This image and sentiment are from the Zinnias set.
I wish I had the design know how of my buddy Katie Sims who is on the Flourishes team.  She and a couple of my other bloggie friends are so talented at putting the elaborate decorative Spellbinder dies to use on their cards.
I told Katie I was going to try to sneak in the time to make a card for the current Pantone color challenge at Flourishes and since I've been stuck inside for a couple of days with crazy Winter Storm Leon I managed to put this together.  I wish it were a little more fancy, but I'm pretty happy with it.
Speaking of Leon, here's what my yard looked like this morning.

Now remember, I live on the Gulf Coast, like twenty miles inland from the beach so this is something we just don't see here.  In fact I think it's been 17 years since we had enough snow to actually stick and accumulate.  This is not snow.  We never got the fluffy stuff.  It's all sleet.  Pretty much everything has shut down for the past two days and will probably remain that way tomorrow since temps aren't going to get high enough to really get rid of the sleet.  It's most probably going to refreeze on the roads and we coastians just do not know how to drive in those conditions.
And how about these ice daggers!  I hope no little birdies land on my air conditioning unit.  They might get speared when these let go.

Besides the Flourishes challenge, Id like to enter my card in the following challenges also:

Vintage Stamping Challenge--lavender and lace
Addicted to Stamps--flowers
Amusing Challenge--anything goes

Hope you're all staying safe and warm.  I see some of my Canadian friends are about to get hit again.  Sending big warm hugs!

Paper--My Mind's Eye "So Sophie", Georgia Pacific, Copic XPress-it Blending card
Stamps--Flourishes "Zinnias"

Snaggle Tooth

New challenge time at Mo's.  This week our fabby Franz wants to see "Lots of Layers".  I've used one of Mo's newest images, Missing Tooth.  I think I have maybe three or four sheets left of this paper pad, the closest I am to actually using a whole one.  LOL  I drug out my sewing machine for some stitching on the panels.  The flowers are the large hydrangea punch from Martha Stewart.  I inked their edges with some Wild Honey Distress ink and used the centers from the Memory Box Fabulous Phlox die which I inked with Spiced Marmalade.  Pearls, lace, and a couple of butterflies plus a cute sentiment from a There She Goes Clear Stamp set dealing with the Tooth Fairy round out my card.
     Here's a close up.

Copics Used:
skin--E000, E00, E11, E13, R20, R30
hair--E31, E33, E35, E51, E57

shoes--E41, E42, E43, E47
quarter--N1
grounding--W1, W3, W5

Mo is awarding a $5.00 gift voucher to her store to one person for every 25 entries in the challenge so come play along for your chance.
     Happy Thursday!

Questions answered

Just a short post today to answer a couple of questions that were in my comments for my calendar project.

1.  Tracey J.--Although I wish I had the opportunity to have taken Copic classes, they don't seem to offer them anywhere near me so I am completely self taught in the coloring arena.  I still have lots and lots to learn.  I'm a visual learner so watching video tutorials and even some picture tutorials from other crafters has really helped me learn.

2.  Stampin Granny--The sleeves for the stand hold 6 x 6 layouts.  All those 5.5 x 5.5 cards I make helped make the design easy.

Please don't hesitate to ask me about anything you have a question on.  If you don't have your email linked to you screen name, feel free to leave your question in the comments or you can email me directly using the link on my sidebar.
Hope you'll come back tomorrow to check out the first day of the new SugarPea Design Sweet Sneaks.
     Have a blessed Sunday!

A calendar project

Sharing something a little different with you today.  Last year I started a small calendar project and never did finish it so I hope I can stick with this years.  LOL  I picked this stand up at Michael's with a coupon.  It's supposed to be for hanging scrapbook pages, but I decided it would make a great calendar stand.
The pictures aren't the greatest.  My house has terrible lighting and it's freezing outside so I hope you can get the gist anyway.

I've used Mo's Herald Harry to bring in the New Year.  I was inspired to use him by the gorgeously colored tag of Vili that you can find here.  I'm horrible at folds and creases so I was literally looking at her colored image and trying to color mine in like fashion.  Eehhh...it's passable, but I need LOTS more practice.
I'm going to try my best to use up some of the older things in my stash this year.  The vellum and pearl brads are probably the newest things on this layout and they're both a few months old.
You can find the printable calendar pages at Findingnana.  She has a couple of different styles for 2014.
Here's a close up of little Harry.

2014 has officially arrived and so has the first challenge from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I picked out New Year Baby Bella and Bronte to play with for my inspiration card.  Lots of layering and a fun Tim Holtz Sizzix clock die cut.  The fun banners are a new toy I got.  The set of banner dies is from My Craft Spot.  There are four different shapes and they nest.  Too cute!
