Jack of all trades

Don't miss out on my birthday candy!  It's yummy Mo goodness!

Oh my gosh!  I broke out of my OCD perfectionist mode! Do you see it?  Do you?  The screw heads aren't all perfectly aligned! Bwahahah  Just kidding!  I'm not quite THAT bad.  :-)
My intention was to make this card for my hubby for Father's Day to let him know what a great dad I think he is.  The image, from Mo's Digital Pencil, is called Mr. Fix-it and it's such a blessing to have a hubby that not only is handy with mechanical and construction things, but is pretty darned good at fixing just about any kind of problem you can think of.
I had been surfing through some blogs one night well before I started this card and he came in as I was switching pages and accused me of trying to hide his Father's Day card.  Poor guy.  He looked so heartbroken when I showed him that wasn't the case.
After I got it made I decided I would give it to my daughter to give her pops.  She got mad!  Can you believe that!  Do you know why?  Cause she's a BIG mush.  LOL  She told me she hates buying cards cause they always make her cry and now I'd given her a card that she was going to have to supply the mush for.  LOL  Let's just say her mush blessed her dad's heart---and made her cry.  :-)
Besides being my hubby's Father's Day card this is also my DT card for this week's challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge.  Our theme is "Masculine" and we'd love to have you come join in the fun.
I really wanted those wood grain panels to be more like real boards so I layered two pieces of thin chipboard together and put the DP on top.  They're like planks now and look more realistic with the screws in them.  I also decided to "frame" Mr. Fix-it".  I cut a square of kraft paper slightly large than the image and then cut out the inner part.  I sandwiched the image between the frame and another piece of kraft to make it a little more stable.  I had marked the mitered corners and just clipped them before adding glue.  Then I added the tiny brads.  I think it turned out fun and rugged enough for my manly man.  LOL
On a sad note we're saying goodbye to one of our team mates. Sheila will be leaving the team after three years of wonderful inspiration.
We have been having some of the most awesome entries.  I think that's why the winner is randomly drawn.  It's just too hard to pick!  That means everybody has an equal chance to win so why not play the odds.  :-)
I'd like to enter this card in to the following challenges:

Oozak Challenge--two papers and embellies
Crafting For All Seasons--for men
My Mum's Craft Shop--about the boys
Ribbon Carousel--heavy metal + spooled item
Make It Monday--anything goes
Creative Inspirations Paint--Father's Day
Dream Valley Challenge--for that special guy
Card Makin Mamas--Father's Day
Crafts 4 Eternity Recipe Challenge--dashing dads

     Be blessed!

  9. oh Tracy, this is amazing. of course it turns anyone to mush...

the fabby screw heads were the first thing I noticed on this, and NOT because they didn't match up. I didn't even notice that until you mentioned it in your post... silly thing you! ;)

guess I had better add this image to my wish list, too. grins!

hope you have a wonderful day!
