Artsy smartsy

(If you missed my previous post today for There She Goes please scroll down)
I couldn't help it.  I got bit by the mixed media bug and here's my first attempt.  I nearly drove myself crazy to get this weeks project done for the new "Anything Goes" Mo's Digital Pencil challenge.  This is soooo not what I started out with.  LOL  I was going to do a card with the adorably precious little Odette and try as I might I could not get the card to come together.  I had been wanting to create a little notebook for my daughter that was artsy so I decided to go in that direction.  HA!  I know bits and pieces about mixed media art but this is what I came up with.  This post would be a mile long if I actually listed everything I used.  :-)  There's paint, Distress Stains, modeling paste, chipboard, TH tissue paper,Washi tape, stamping, and doodling besides the Distress ink colored image called "Jo Painting" that you can find in Mo's store.  I was a basket case doing "messy' art, but it was fun!  Here's a close up of the top half so you can see the texture and the letters.

My chick loves crafting as much as I do, but she goes for everything I don't get into.  LOL  She paints, draws, crochets, and has now started sewing.  So now she has a little notebook to jot down ideas or whatever in.
Make sure you check out what my teamies have to share.  There's lots of gorgeousness this week and you'll get a chance to win a $5.00 gift voucher from Mo if you play along with our challenge.
Didn't I warn you that you never know what you'll see here.  LOL
I'd like to enter this project in the following challenges:

My Mum's Craft Shop--anything goes
Bearly Mine--anything but a card

  5. Ooh, how beautiful! Good for you for trying something totally new, Tracy! I think your first mixed media project turned out beyond fabulous! LOVE the rich textured background with the multi-colors, and love the doodled lettering. Fabulous coloring job on that sweet image, too.
Your daughter sounds like mine. She's very artsy, too, but into totally different things than me. She also loves to paint and draw, and she's taken up crochet, also. :)

  33. Oh I'm sure your daughter just flipped over this Artzy journal for her creative thoughts & projects. You used some really cool techniques. I love the look of mixed media but have a problem getting my hands dirty. LOL I was just looking at a messy project online & told Frank there's no way I could get my hands that dirty. LOL I'm not really a prissy type person.......just don't like dirty hands. LOL
Happy Huggies coming your way, sweetie!
