My first art journal page

I'm going to shake things up around here a little bit with a VERY different kind of post today.  I have been wanting to try art journaling forevah.  I've been collecting some supplies, digging through what I already have and watching TONS of videos.  Today I'm sharing my first ever art journaling page.

I purchased a small Dylusions art journal.  I covered the pages with matte gel medium and adhered some Tim Holtz tissue paper.  That was covered in gesso.

Next came a background of blended gelatos and some Broken China Distress stain.  Then some modeling paste through a Tim Holtz stencil.  After drying I colored it with Perfect Pearls.  More strips of the tissue paper were layed down across the center of the page with gel medium and lined with a white gel pen and Faber Castell black Pitt pen.

I added some random stamping with a Tim Holtz script stamp and some stenciling with a Memory box stencil using Dusty Concord Distress ink.  I also splattered with a bit of watered down Distress ink and thinned gesso.

The flowers and leaves were stamped with a Dylusions stamp set.  I restamped on cardstock for the leaves and flowers to add dimension.  They were painted.  Not so crazy about the flowers but....I'll live with it.

The Bible verse was printed out on my computer.  I went around the edges with a Black Big Brush Pitt pen.

This kind of art could be VERY addicting.  LOL  I love mixing all the mediums and pulling out all the fun supplies.
Thanks for stopping in to take a look.  Back tomorrow with some Mo's Digital Pencil and Stamping Bella goodies.
     Be blessed!

Welcome to the first Stamping Bella Bellarific Friday of 2016.  Today the Babes are featuring this month's Stamp of the Month, Uptown Girl Brittany the Birthday Girl.  She can be purchased at a 20% discount anytime during January.
For my card I colored her with Copics on a large panel and added hand drawn pen lines with a ruler down the sides.  Her dress is covered in Wink of Stella Clear Glitter pen with Stickles on the ruffles.  For the sentiment, I stamped it on some cardstock and hand cut it.  The balloon was die cut, highlighted with a white gel pen and covered in Glossy Accents.  Then I tied the two together with some bakers twine and popped them up on foam.  This pretty lady is winging her way through the mail to a dear friend.
