I just love Stacey Yacula's little owls for Purple Onion Designs. This one's name is Flora and I've created an inked background with some gold splatters for her. I didn't have any yellow oxide inks so my Scattered Straw Distress ink came out a bit heavy on the left hand side.
I had purchased some SSS Fog grey ink a while back with the intention of trying a little shadow stamping on some of the larger sentiments I have. Finally got around to it and I like how it turned out. Wish I would have left the stamp in my Misti though, cause I needed to re-stamp the black on the part over the Distress inking. Not sure why the grey shows up more on there but it does.
Copics Used:
owl W1, W3, W5, E71, E74, Y15, Y19
scarf BG10, BG72, BG75
stump E23, E55, E57
Happy Wednesday!

I love it, Tracy! Flora is just too sweet! The background is fabulous, as is the shadow behind the sentiment! The line across the bottom is so crisp and clear too! Great card, my friend! :o)

ReplyDeleteThe owl is so cute. We have barn owls in the barn next to our house and we love watching them go out to hunt as the light fades. Love the shadow stamping too - it's really effective. Must try it! xx

ReplyDeleteThis is sooooooo cute, my friend! First of all, I adore that sweet little owl, and love the background you created for him. The Distress ink halo spotlights your character to perfection. And the shadow stamping on the sentiment is awesome. Love that technique!
ReplyDeleteOh so cute! I think your inked background is stunning, I even love the darker yellow area. And the way you did the shadowing - fabulous! Overall, this is an amazing card Tracy, love it all! I have this cute little owl, I need to pull her out and colour it up. Thanks for inspiring me today!
