I know I've been MIA this week. Been a little under the weather, but things are looking up and I'm back today with a card I made for the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge. This week they're asking for layers. I just counted eleven layers on this card so I think it will qualify. ☺ I know it's probably not in the style that they are looking for since this challenge is geared towards TH, Vecchi, G45, and 7 Gypsies, but I enjoyed making it anyway.
The beautiful tulip image is from Fred, She Said Digital Designs. I printed it out four times and then cut all the pieces apart so that I could layer them for dimension. The images are colored with Prisma colored pencils and blended with odorless mineral spirits. For the background I did a lot of layering and added some small brads that I colored with alcohol ink because I didn't have any that matched. This card was so much fun to make. Fussy cutting is a lot of work and time consuming , but the challenge of putting all those pieces together and having something with depth and dimension is so enjoyable.
Supplies
Paper: Recollections cardstock, white cardstock, My Mind's Eye
Stamp: Fred, She Said Tulip Trio Digi
Inks+: Prisma colored pencils, Gemini Masterpiece Odorless Mineral Spirits, Ranger Espresso Alcohol Ink, Inkadinkado Blending Chalks
Tools: Nestabilites Labels Eight (S5-019)
Miscellaneous: brads
Thanks for popping in!
