This little card may look small, but it packs a punch!
Our December sponsor at Papercraft Star is Catherine Pooler, our resident Stampin' Up go to girl. Catherine sent me some absolutely gorgeous papers to work with this month. The patterned paper in the picture above is from the Deck the Halls collection and despite what my photo looks like is a beautiful grey/green color.
I have no idea what this style of card is called. I guess it's a form of squash card. I've yet to find a tutorial on this particular style, but I've seen several beautiful examples of it, so I decided to put on my thinking cap and figure out how to make it myself. I'm going to take you through the steps I took, but keep in mind, this card will adapt easily to whatever size you'd like to make it. Just figure out what size panels you need on the inside and/or outside for stamps or whatever embellishments you choose to use and go from there.
Step 1--Your card base
Step 2--cut all mats and decorative panels
Step 3--cut/punch/etc. all pieces for front and back of card
Step 4--fold up the card so that diagonal lines are mountain folds
Step 5--attach your ribbon closure and the front and back panels
That's it! It makes a beautiful card that looks like it was really hard to make, but wasn't. If you have any questions don't hesitate to leave a comment or drop me an e-mail.
Have a great day!
