Recycle or repurpose something to create an altered holiday gift, card or scrapbook layout is the challenge for this week at Papercraft Star. I also got to use some wonderful Stampin' Up products supplies by our December DT sponsor, Catherine Pooler.
I do recycle here at home so I had to make sure I remembered to keep a bottle back for my project. LOL
I've created a jar to hold some yummy cocoa mix. You can find the recipe I used here.
The jar is decorated with snowflake trim I punched out of Very Vanilla cardstock. The lid was painted with white acrylic paint. I covered the edge of the lid in chunky glitter and then covered that after dry with some Triple Thick just to make sure none of that pesky glitter got into the cocoa. There's a circle of designer paper on top of the lid along with a button and some taffeta ribbon. I tied on the instructions for the cocoa mix with some clear Tinsel trim and the instructions themselves are printed out on Very Vanilla and backed with some of the Candy Cane Christmas Designer papers.
The card is made with Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, and the designer paper. I stamped out each letter, tore them apart, glued that onto some Real Red cardstock, and tore those apart also to get the distressed letters for my card sentiment.
There are pearls on both the bottle and card snowflake trim.
This week's sponsor is Purple Pumpkin with acool gingerbread man embellishment package prize. Our December Grand Prize sponsor is Scrap Freak.
Get your entries in by noon EST on Saturday.
Happy crafting!
