I punched the center band of kraft cover weight cardstock out with a MS punch and matted it on some more of the DP. On the bottom panel I tore the paper, rolled it back and secured it down with some small eyelets. I then threaded some of the Kraft Outlet twill tape through the eyelets.
Then it was FLOWER TIME! :-) I cut each layer twice, once in Lunch Bag kraft text paper and once in the DP. Each layer was smushed and inked then stacked. The largest flower is sporting another new purchase, one of the new Recollections embellishment lines at Michael's. I wanted my other flowers to match, but there was only the large size flower centers so I used some acrylic rhinestones and added some silver microbeads around them for my smaller flower centers. The leaves were hand cut, scored, and inked using the Lunch Bag kraft cardstock. The stems were made by dampening and twisting some thin strips of Lunch Bag kraft text paper. Through the spine I threaded a length of waxed linen thread and added some silver beads.
I hope you'll join us for this week's challenge. Remember you MUST use kraft paper (doesn't have to be from Kraft Outlet) OR Kraft Outlet products on your creations to qualify for a weekly Top Three Designer spot and a chance to win a $20.00 voucher for the Kraft Outlet store in this months drawing. The linky will remain open until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 30th.
Happy Monday!

Tracy, I think I'll just have to pick this as my favorite project you've done (but then, they all are!) I love the lacing and, of course, your lovely flowers. And the colors are gorgeous. Totally awesome!
Fab fab notebook Tracy! They don't sell anything like them in the stores!! Yours is the best :-) It seems such a shame to write in it! You're probably like me, if you have a new agenda or in this case notebook your first few lines will be the neatest but the last are not so pretty anymore (but then again your handwriting probably remains constant I guess!).
LOVE your journal. The lacing technique is so creative. And I really like your flower clusters, too. :)
