Colors of the Spirit

When Tracy-Lynn of Fred, She Said Designs came out with these new digi files I couldn't wait to play with them.  You know me and my flowers.  LOL
The card design is based on this week's Mojo Monday sketch.  I've used some more of the gorgeous Prima paper that my BBF Jan sent me.  SOOO pretty!  I loaded this card with pearls too as you can see.  I just couldn't help myself .
So here's how the card was constructed.  The leaves, flowers, and butterflies are all digi files from FSS.  They are all actually cutting files that can be used in programs like SCAL.  Thankfully Tracey-Lynn also includes some digi versions too in the files.  They just have to be cut out by hand, something that I have no problem with.  Basically I printed out a whole sheet of the flowers and leaves and cut out what I needed to use.  I ran all the flowers through my paper crimper just to loosen up the fibers and make them more pliable.  Next I broke out the Glimmer Mist and sprayed away.
While all that was drying I printed out the digital image of the butterfly at the size I needed for the card and cut it out.  And yes, I cut all those little details out by hand with an E-xacto knife.  The butterfly was then sprayed with Glimmer Mist also and left to dry.
The leaves and flowers were ready so I scored the leaves, inked them with a little Tea Dye distress ink and they were ready to go.  The flowers were inked in the centers with the Wild Honey and on the petal edges with Tattered Rose and the tiniest hint of the Wild Honey.  They all got a yummy Jolee's pink pearl in the center except for the largest flower.  It needed a bigger center so I colored a large pearl with a Copic marker to match.
I added white pearls to the butterflies body but thought he needed a little somethin' somthin' so I dug out some gold Perfect Pearls and gave his wings a dusting.  The pretty sentiment came from Raindrop Echo Designs.
Hope you like the card.  It took me hours to make it, but I loved every minute.  This is my kind of crafting! :-)

Tracy this card is extremely beautiful!! With all the details you've incorporated and all the cutting of the leaves by hand, this card is priceless and if I were you, I don't think I would be able to let go of it!

How very very clever of you to put those through the crimper !!! Ah yes, I just used that paper myself yesterday, that very same brown flowered piece. I am going to say it, GREAT MINDS !! I am busy making a mini for a friend who is retiring, and I gotta say I am sweating over each and every little teeny addition. I will send a pic when I am done... Beautiful work here, as always !!
