Our challenge this week at Papercraft Star is to do something "French". I had gone back and forth for I don't know how long before I broke down and purchased Elizabeth J. from Make It Crafty. She's a bit out of my usual style, but those ruffles! I wanted to color those ruffles so badly. LOL The camera didn't pick up the shading as well as I would have liked and I think I needed to go in with another darker red layer before calling it quits, but here she is in all her ruffled glory. She's far from perfect, but she was fun to experiment with.
I used a Ranger manila tag for my base. I put some Tea Dye distress ink on my craft sheet and drug the tag through it. I used some TH stamps with Fired Brick and Vintage Photo inks to create a background on the tag and brushed gold Perfect Pearls over the wet inks for a bit of sparkle.
The next layer is a vintage postcard digital image created by my friend, Dawn at LilyPinkScraps. She had offered this as a freebie over at The Outlawz and I thought it was perfect for my tag. I changed the color a bit and printed it out on some Light Kraft Text Weight paper from Kraft Outlet. The paper is really cool and after I crumbled it up it kind of felt like soft leather. I inked it with Old Paper and Vintage photo, then tore the upper right corner and threaded some waxed linen thread across the tear. I added a brad and fan charm also.
The little heart is a chipboard piece from Michaels that I covered in Perfect Medium and more of the gold Perfect Pearls. I dyed some white seam binding with Fired Brick and Aged Mahogany Distress inks and colored a snippet of lace with the Vintage Photo.
Last but not least is Miss Elizabeth in all her Copic colored glory. Like I said, not perfect, but oh so fun to color. :-)
Our sweet Jinny is showcasing images from our sponsor, The House Across the Bay, this week so make sure you check out her card along with the rest of the DT creations over at the PCS blog and come play along with our "French " challenge. Oui!
I'd like to enter my tag into the following challenges:

Craft Your Days Away--metal

Happy Wednesday!

Well, I'd say she can-can! Especially in those stockings! This is colored beautifully, but I know what you mean about cameras/photos...frustrating sometimes. No complaints here, though--she's gorgeous! Glad to hear you're feeling better! And did you see...Nancy's back! ;) Have a great day!
Hey, Tracy I find the reds hard to color with but I'll keep trying! You did a beautiful job on this and your composition is just stunning! Love the lacing.

Tracy this is just stunning! I am glad you jumped in and grabbed her because you have done a great job! Amazing amazing. It is hard to get the shading just right sometimes though...especially with dark reds but she does look super beautiful :) Great tag too!
Absolutely gorgeous tag, Tracy, your coloring is fabulous, I can see the folds! Love the images you used to surround, "the new age French girl", love the colors as well. Have a wonderful Wednesday.
What a stunning tag! Your colouring is amazing, particularly on her dress! Thank you for the challenge tip, by the way! I must take a look at the French challenge, too! Hugs, Tracey x
This is more than just ooh-la-la Tracy! I think you may have just outdone the French themselves with your gorgeous tag!!! You and your copics work absolute miracles!! Hugs, Ira
The WOW n' the sexy n' then the tear with the string n' the laced up look n' all with the charm n' the crinkles n' stuff's all over.....
This is my brain on your cards! Barely able to transmit function to the fingers to process the overwhelming thoughts it's producing.

There's so many reasons why I just love your tag! Great image and colors, go perfect with the red ribbon and the black thread, the distressed paper, the charms.... It's like all the bits and pieces take up a detail found on the image. Wonderful attention to details!
After I got over the stunning coloring, picked my jaw up from the floor, I got a big huge laugh !! What total fun this is !! She made me think of the Pointer Sisters singing "I know we can make it, oh yes we can-can, we can-can, I know we can-can," and about 70 more can-cans, lol ....
Wow Girl! I don't know how I missed this tag! It is beautiful! Love all of the distressing, lacing, the vintage postcard, charms...........I just love it all! Great job!
Happy Huggies ~
Sharron♥
