A caroling we will go

Give me a C!  That's what we want this week at Mo's Digital Pencil--"C is for...." projects.  As you can see I've used a group of Carolers on my card.  I started out with a whole different layout and it just wouldn't work.  I went to a simpler one and then thought it was too plain, but as I worked I kept finding ways to dress it up and this is where I ended up.  I fancied up the faux quilt squares with some white embossing powder for a frosty look.  It's really hard to see the detail on the black in the photo but I embossed with the Nestie 22 die and then traced the inner and outer edges of the die and cut it out.  I like the frame look and the black seems to make the other colors pop.  For the image I colored with Copics and then masked the image and used Distress inks to create the gray background.  I wanted the snow fall to really stand out.  The image itself has a few flakes drawn in but I wanted it to be heavier since I'd made the sky look so dark and dreary.  I used a big dotty wood stamp with some Versamark and more EP to create heavier flurries and added some glitter for the ground.  Did you spot that teeny tiny little tag I die cut and stamped under the bow?  It's just peeping out.  And did you catch the flocking on her muff?  I mean it has to be fluffy, right? ☺
I really enjoyed making this card.  It seems backing off the DT load has freed up my mojo a bit.  I'm even working on a mini album!  GASP!  Yep, you heard me right.  It's been forever since I've done a mini.  Really missed making them too.  I'll be showing it next weekend so be on the look out.
Meanwhile, pop over to Mo's challenge and play along with something with a "C" for your chance at $5.00 worth of goodies from the awesome Mo store.  WOOHOO!
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Tracy,
This is truly an amazing card. So glad you put all the detail notes in your description...would never have seen the tag and would have thought the white embossing was part of the paper. In any event, the card came together beautifully because your coloring, design and layout are, as usual, gorgeous. Love that image!

Tracy, this is an amazing card. The embossing around the squares is a fabulous touch. The framing of the carollers really sets them off and contrasts so well with that fabulous wintry sky. Love the embossed flakes and the flocked muff. Outstanding!

(I believe my twang just reverting to hippie lingo) The detail is so unbelievable. The coloring on your little carolers, so muted and vintage and old school looking..LOVE that and terrific job masking. The snowy night is perfect! Gorgeous snow on the quilted papers too. I know you have a huge smile over this card because I do too!!
Beautiful work my friend. :D
