It's all about the cake

I'm actually a bit jealous of most of my friends out there in card land.  I hear you talking about how supportive your hubby's are and how they "get" your hobby, and mine . . . .NOT!  He's not mean about it or anything and he would never tell me to stop.  He just doesn't get my need to create.  I tried to coax him into it by mentioning here and there that some card he had seen me working on had won a Top 3 winner or spotlight to which he had to come back and zing me with "you mean a Top 3 Loser, cause if you didn't win, you lost".  Ha ha hee hee isn't he just so funny.  That became the running joke, "how many Top Losers did you get today?"  Smart alec.
Slowly but surely I'm beginning to win him over and it's changed to "how many wins did you get today" and he'll congratulate me if there happens to be one.  Well I guess now that he's given my hobby a little respect he suddenly knows all about it.  While working on this card he came in while I was trying to decide what color buttons to use.  I had some orange ones in my hand and all of a sudden he starts yelling "NO orange, NO orange!!!"  I thought he was going to snatch them out of my hand.  So red it is and now I have a consultant.  LOL
So here is my card for this weeks challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil.  I've used "Tall Cake" and as many bright eye popping colors as I could to fit the bill for our sweet Franz's "Bright Colors" challenge.  Pop out your brights and a Mo image and come play along for your chance at some Mo goodness from the DP store.
Here are a few challenges I'd like to enter my card into:

Eureka Stamps--anything goes
Make It Monday--anything goes
Sketch'n Stash--sketch
Sweet Stampin'--something sweet

     Happy Thursday!

Stunning bright and cheery card! I love that image and wonderful papers and the red buttons are perfect.
I'm not sure if my hubby really 'gets' the whole challenge thing or what a design team really is but I have to say he is very supportive which is just as well because I really lack confidence.

That's some cake lol I'd like one just like that for my birthday Tracy :) LOL @ your hubby. I think they're all tarred with the same brush.....After I'd been colouring for about 2 years mine came in one time I was doing a blog post for a card I'd made, and made some comment about which magazine did it come out of???!!! Ummm...I coloured it, was the answer and he just stood there and gaped at me.....as in "you really did that on your own?" I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, that for all that time he didn't even realise what I was doing hunched over that craft table most nights!! He kept coming back and looking at that card and telling me how good it was lol Funny breed of animal these men :)
BTW love your cheery, bright card....makes me smile.
Hugs xx

Aww!! your work on that hubby of yours Tracy is starting to show signs so keep it up sweet lady.
I think he was dead right about the buttons, these are perfect.
Love that image too, what a fab cake.

My hubby supports me every millimeter of the way...literally, he looks at my cards and lets me know if I haven't got things on perfectly straight and then reminds me I haven't used the set square he bought me.....lol I ignore him of course and tell him to get back to the gardening....lol
Huge Hugs Mau xx

LOLOL....aren't they adorable?? They emboss one time and then think they should have their own HGTV Show!
I think the card is gorgeous and that expression on her face is priceless. I do concur though, no orange. What you've got here is perfection!!!
From one top loser to another (snicker)
hugs!!

LOL! I cannot imagine anyone not being supportive of your work, so I'm so glad that he's coming around :). And this card is so sweet! I really love the touches of shimmer on the frosting and the way the buttons mimic the stacked layers of the cake.

Lovely card.. love the colors... yes, hubbies are spoiled and unless they have a hobby of their own, they whine when anything takes us away from them.. too funny... Just love your image and how she comes to life on your card.xxx Ann Marie

Love all of the bright colors. I hate to say this but hubby was right.
Pretty soon he'll be there to help all the time. Because you know what they say...it's feast or famine.

Terrific work on this. I love your work.

Beautiful bright, cheery red... love the image, the papers and your buttons... all so perfect!
I have to say that the Penmaker is very supportive, but then we have always worked together in our businesses and he knows the craft industry... makes a difference, I'm sure!
Have a wonderful day, Tracy!

Oh Tracy...what can I say? Men!!! Your husband cracks me up..."first loser" eh? hahaha!! I almost choked on my soda when I saw what he said about the orange buttons!! LOL!! Now every time I see one of your cards, I'll be thinking "no orange buttons"!! Your card is stunning, as always!! Oh...I have to tell ya...the other day I was working on a watercolor painting in my studio and my hubby waled through and pointed at something on my table and said "you did a really good job on this one"...ahem...he was pointing at a photo of a rose that I'd printed on cardstock! bwahaha! Ahhhh...like your hubby, he gets point for trying! Hugs. Pat

This is a gorgeous card Tracy, I love your fabulous image - I wouldn't mind that cake!
My husband really shocked me when he asked me to make a card for him to enter into the World of Tanks Anniversary competition - he won a prize with it and has taken a lot more interest in my hobby ever since. I have to admit to not being that interested in World of Tanks or World of Warcraft personally but I do try to ask intelligent questions sometimes.

This is a great pretty one Tracy, and the cake with glitters are so, so cute!!
Your consultant is too funny, maybe get him to make one and see if he could win, LOL!

fabulous card as always Tracy! love the image!
Wouldn't say my hubby 'gets' the crafting need I have, more tolerates it! But he does congratulate me when I've had a win! And I do show him various makes and he's learnt how to make appropriate supportive noises (I think my daughter's been giving him notes!)

Very fun card, Tracy! Love the happy colors and the "red" buttons - he, he! Fabulous coloring of the yummy image! My hubby doesn't give any advice, but he does subscribe to my blog and occasionally he will reply when he thinks a card is cute!

Tracy, Tracy, Tracy....WOW, you are a winner with this wonderful card. Right up my alley...Did you explain to your hubby that the winners are just randomly selected by a machine...and the Top 3 are picked by fellow crafters....I would rather have the Top 3...But then again my hubby used to say well how much money did you make today....lol Oh me, such is the life of a crafter...Hugz, joann

Well, at least hubby was paying attention when he yelled "No Orange Buttons" and that's a good thing. I'll never pick up a button again without thinking of him. And as far as I'm concerned your cards are always winners in my eyes, as is this one.

Hugs
Debbie

You've got such a hilarious husband Tracy ;-) Ha! Oh, men! Mine is very supportive I must say, although he always has to laugh out loud when I'm telling him I've made it to the top 3 or even won. He always wonders why that makes me happier than winning the lottery ;-) Your cupcake card is totally yummy!!! Love the glittery cream, gosh, such a neat design, too!! Hugs, Ira
