My first card of 2015! I have just adored the Penny Black critters for a long time and for some reason only worked with them a couple of times. Well, hubby needed to order a tool from Amazon that was only $11.00 and I just hate to pass up free shipping so I added a couple of Penny Black sets to the order. hee hee
For my card I started by using modeling paste and a stencil to create the background texture. Then I sprinkled it while still wet with some embossing powder. That was late last night so I just let it dry over night and then heated the embossing powder this morning. I cut two banners from DP and one from vellum. I wanted to mute the floral print a bit so I layered the vellum on top and stitched across the middle with some silver thread. The heart is actually a Paper Smooches balloon die. I just cut the little end off. Some silver sequins to finish it off and that's it!
Here's how I finished off the inside. This is one of my goals for this year. Finish ALL cards! LOL I added a strip of DP, stamped the sentiment, and used some grey ink to stamp a soft version of the cat in the corner.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
