Papercraft Star Challenge #27

The Papercraft Star challenge this week is to make a project based on one of your New Year's resolutions.  To be honest, at this same time last year you couldn't have convinced me that I would:

  1. Have a blog
  2. Make videos and post them on YouTube
  3. Make cards, enter them in challenges and actually win and place
  4. Be accepted as a member of several Design Teams
  5. And make some AWESOME new friends--ONLINE!
It's been a crazy adventure and I've loved every minute of it!  Now it's a New Year and the start of a new adventure and I can only hope it's as great as 2010!
When I saw this little guy (I'm crazy about Mo Manning's images!!) focusing in his spyglass, I knew this was what I needed to make my card with.  I really want to focus on figuring out who I am as a crafter in the upcoming year.
I got my second set of Copics for Christmas and it has made the shading and blending so much easier.  I still have a lot to learn, like all that light source stuff, but I'm happy with how it came out.  I used a little blue chalk around the image just to accent.  I hope you can see the 3-D on the stars.  I found that image online, printed it in three different sizes, and used a ruler and embossing tool to go over all the lines.  Then I folded all the scores and it made the star have all that great dimension.  I put a little Stickles on the edges for some sparkle.  The sentiment just had to be finished so I finished the inside of the card too.

This week's sponsor is Catherine Pooler, our guest designer this week.  Catherine is offering our lucky winner a subscription to her Club Inbox for Stampin' Up.
Our Grand Prize Sponsor for the month of January is Pink Cat Studio Digi Stamps .  Every time you enter one of our challenges this month your name will go into the drawing for five FREE digi stamps!!  WOOHOO!!  Their stamps are adorable. :)
I'm entering this card in the challenge at Mo's DP2 challenge.
So what's on your list of goals and things to change this year?  Show us what's in store for you in 2011!

Hey, you already made my most favorite card of all of 2011 - how do you get any better than this ? Everything works in perfect harmony, perfect.

Tracy, I love this card! Everything about it because it's perfection! The font of the sentiment goes so well with the image too. Was the sentiment a stamp too or did you print it from your computer?
