A Couple of Your Paper Pantry Swap Projects

I participated in two of the swaps at Your Paper Pantry for the month of July. The first one was an ATC swap with a patriotic theme. I found this cool little drum image on line and decided to cut it in fours for the card. The backing is Bristol paper that I sprayed with some Pearl Perfect Pearls mixed with water in a Mini Mister. I added a little gold star sequin for a little extra pizzazz. I love the brightness and shimmer of the background.

Supplies
Paper: Paper Cannon Drawing Bristol, Great White Imaging Photo Paper
Ink etc.: Pearl Perfect Pearls
Miscellaneous: Gold star sequin

The second swap was a card swap with the theme of hello/friend. It's a very simple card as far as design. We had to make six of them. The image is one I won from the Digi Doodle Shop. I used my Derwent watercolor pencils to color it. The image and sentiment were cut out with Nestabilities and the purple layer was cut with deco edged scissors (yes Jan, I broke them out again--LOL).
Supplies
Paper: Recollections, Cannon Drawing Bristol, Bazzill
Stamp: Papertrey Ink (sentiment)
Inks: Derwent Watercolor pencils
Tools: Nestabilities Large Deckled Rectangles (S4-202) and Classic Ovals Large (S4-110)
Miscellaneous: ribbon, Prima flower, acrylic gem
Normally my Design Team post for Papercraft Star would be on Friday, but since we're starting the Blog Hop that day my post will be tomorrow. Sure hope you're planning on coming to join us for the hop! You have through noon on Saturday to submit your project for the circles challenge this week.
Til tomorrow.

A Little French Vintage ATC

Well, I've survived my week as Vacation Bible School director. We had a great group of kids and everything actually went pretty smoothly, but I've got so many things to catch up on.

Hubby and I spent the morning putting up a garbage bag full of fresh green beans. We LOVE green beans so I can't complain about the extra added chore for today.

I've been slowly working on two swap projects for Your Paper Pantry this week. If you haven't been to this awesome place of craftiness go check it out. I'm a member of the ATC group and the Collage Melange Group, but there are several other different kinds of crafting groups you can join.

Our ATC swap this month was kind of a freebie. You got to make your cards in your own style. Ya'll know that I love my vintage/shabby chic/French stuff so that's what I did for my card. It's pretty simple although it uses several different kinds of media as you can see from the photo above.

The card base is watercolor paper. The background was colored using watercolor crayons. After it dried I stamped it using a script stamp. Two vintage images, some lace, and one of my little handmade roses finish it off. I hope my swap partners like it. I had to make ten of these and I finished them up this morning. One project I can check off the list. :)

Supplies:
Paper: Strathmore 90 lb. Watercolor paper, Great White Imaging
and Photo paper--matte finish, white cardstock

Stamp: Inkadinkado Script stamp
Images: French Label from The Graphics Fairy; can't remember
where I got the little girl

Inks, etc.: Faber-Castell Watercolor Crayons; Frayed Burlap,
Vintage Photo, and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink; Creme de Rouge and Garden Fairy Glimmer Mist
Hope you're having a great weekend!

A Blooming Heart

This month's ATC swap at The {Scrap} Beach had a theme of "A Mother's Love". I knew from the beginning that I wanted to use this vintage rose image I found online. I just LOVE the colors in it. The idea for the card came together very slowly, piece by piece but here it is.

The card backing is Bristol board. I picked up a pack of these precut at Michael's. The background is inked with Tattered Rose and Tea Dye Distress inks and edged with Tea Dye and Vintage Photo. I also sprayed it with Irridescent Gold Glimmer Mist. The heart is chipboard cut on my Cricut, painted with white acrylic paint and edged with Tea Dye and Vintage Photo. I printed the rose image twice and layered it with pop dots. It's also coated with Rock Candy Crackle Paint. A little Making Memories Vintage Findings designer paper, ribbon, pearls, and a vellum sentiment finish it up.
I should have some more cards coming up. I think I'm going to try my hand at combining more than one challenge into my card this week.
On a personal note, I'd appreciate it if you all would pray for my friend. She was in a head on collision Tuesday and her back was broken. Her spinal cord was not supposed to be involved and she was still able to move her legs. However, she went through a six hour surgery yesterday in which they found that one of her vertebra had shattered and the pieces had gotten into her spinal column. The surgery went well, but we'll have to see today if the removal of those pieces and the surgery itself have any effect on her ability to walk. Please keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for popping in!

Kiss Me I'm Irish

Actually I AM a little bit Irish. I had a set of gr-gr-gr-grandparents who immigrated over to the U.S. from Dublin and County Cork. Kiss Me I'm Irish was the theme for the March ATC Swap over at Life On The {Scrap} Beach. The very sweet Hope Simpson (MsScrappaperscissors) has just posted her video showing all the cards from the swap so I thought I'd post a picture of my card here on my blog and tell you a little about how I made it.

The card base is a piece of watercolor paper cut the standard 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" size. I used Frayed Burlap Distress Ink to color it and then added a little bit of Shabby Shutters in the center. I then stamped the card using Walnut Stain Distress Ink with a Stampabilities wooden stamp called Ornate Textured Background.

For the clover I used some of my handmade stems and the leaves were made using a Martha Stewart Hydrangea punch. I just cut the little flowers in half. The clover petals were made using a technique I learned on Splitcoast Stampers (I think?). I took a piece of cardstock and repeatedly rubbed it over the edge of my counter top until the layers of the cardstock began to separate. Once the whole piece is softened you can peel the two layers apart. What you're left with is a texture very much like suede. I then sprayed the petals with Olive Vine Glimmer Mist.

The little blue flowers are ribbon flowers just like the ones I made the hyacinth with on my Birthday Mini video. You can find a fantastic tutorial on how to make these on Gina Ortiz's YT channel--scrappinology.The sentiment was computer generated and painted with pearl Perfect Pearls mixed with water, and the whole card was edged with gold embossing powder.

It was fun to make and I can't wait to get the cards from my swap partners.

Have a great Sunday!
Tracy
