Penguin friends

Hope all my American friends enjoyed your Thanksgiving holidays.  We're on the downhill slide into Christmas now.  These penguin friends from Art Impressions Penguin Cheer set are making preparations already.

     I hand cut the mountains for the background and added a little inking behind them and at the foot of them behind the treeline.  I added some Twinklets glitter to the trees for snow.

Gingerbread house

     If you're a foodie, nothing says Christmas like gingerbread.  Art Impressions Gingerbread Cubbies set will satisfy the sweetest tooth.  The cubbies sets are so much fun to work with.  You can place the characters anywhere you like.

     I added a little sparkle gel pen to the gum drops which kind of gives the look of their sugar coating.  And yes, those are individually cut so you can add as many as you like.  The set has four dies included for them so you don't have to cut them just one at a time.

     I cut some small slits in the white glitter paper to make it look like the lollys and peppermint sticks were stuck down in the snow.

Winter treat bags

     The great sale at Purple Onion Designs is still going on if you haven't had a chance to shop yet.

     I've used a couple of the winter critters to make some little treat bags.  These are super simple.  There are some dies out there that will actually cut the bags out for you but I don't have any so I used a great tutorial from Split Coast Stampers you can find here.

     Perfect packaging for a little something.

Flutter bat

     Sharing some more Art Impressions goodies today.  The Bat Flutter set is a fun way to add some interaction to your cards.  I gave him a Distress ink background splattered with some water droplets and star dotted with a white gel pen.

Tea Bear

     I have become quite the tea drinker lately.  Simple Lipton, but I like it, and I received a beautiful cup from my secret sister at church that I use every day.  Decided to use this sweet bear from Art Impressions Valentine Bears Set and give him a pretty cup too.

     I used an embossing folder for the background and added a little tag with the sentiment tied on with some hemp cord.

Easter House

     Almost time for the Easter Bunny to come hopping around.  Art Impressions has created a new HM Easter set to go with their Holiday Mansion set.

     You'll need the HM set to create the house.  The Easter set includes all the bunnies and decorations plus their coordinating dies.
     I created a soft sky background with some Distress ink.  All the bunnies were colored with my Prismas.  For the tulips I cut them twice from green and white cardstock.  I colored the tulips with my pencils and then trimmed off the stems and added them on top of the green die cuts.
This few shows what's behind the two doors that open...bunnies of course.

Mom the crazy gardening lady

     Today is my mom's birthday and when I saw this crazy gardening lady I knew I had to use her for her birthday card this year.  My mom LOVES to be out in her yard puttering.  She has a big old magnolia in the front yard so I just had to create one on the card for her.  She's also a bird fanatic.  LOL

     The gardening queen comes from Art Impressions Gotta Garden Set.  

     I used my Prismacolor pencils to color her and the birds.  The sky was inked with Distress inks and I pulled out LOTS of dies to create the scene.

Trail of flowers

     Wouldn't it be amazing if butterflies really left a trail of flowers behind them.  This sweet set from 

Purple Onion Designs is called Scattered Flowers and Hush Butterfly.  I used my Prismas to color the images and then added Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen to all of it.  A little inking around the die cut.  I played around with Photoshop a bit to get the purple to look purple instead of black.  LOL  Whenever I use dark cardstock it ALWAYS looks like it's black.
