Monkeying around

It's "Tie It Up" time at The Kraft Journal this week.  I won this fun little image a while back from Little Miss Muffet stamps and thought it would make a fun kid's birthday card.  Since the balloon strings fit right in with the challenge this week, I took the idea and ran with it.  Like you couldn't tell.  LOL  Have you ever seen so many bows on a card!  :-)
The card base is Brown Kraft cardstock.  I used some colorful My Mind's Eye papers to back the image which is colored with Copics.  It's also 3-D although it's kind of hard to see in the pic.  The balloons and the monkey's bow and feet are all popped up a bit on some Zots (another one of those zillion craft supplies I haven't touched in a while that I'm trying to use up).
For the banner I attached some DP to Jenni Bowlin Chipboard Banner pieces and "strung" them onto some Hang Tag String.  I punched some flowers and used and embosser to give the petals some shape.  I put a pop dot in the center indention so the button would be raised up a bit and not smash the flower back down.  I used Red, Blue, Baby Blue and Green Baker's Twine to tie bows through the button holes.
So come play along and show us what you can come up with for our "Tie It Up"  challenge.
I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Stamps R Us--cards for kids
Birthday Sundaes--birthday cards with wording on the front
Mark's Finest Papers--birthday
Crafty Catz--buttons and bows
Little Miss Muffett Challenges--blues and creams BUT anything goes with a LMM stamp
Make It Monday--anything goes

     Happy Monday!

Little Miss Muffet Guest Designer #2

A huge thank you to Barbara at Little Miss Muffet Challenges for letting me guest design for her a second week.  :-)
I knew what I wanted to do with this stamp, but getting it there was another thing.  LOL  The challenge at Little Miss Muffet is clouds.  I started off trying to do them with watercolor.  NOT!  Annika I bow to you, but I could not get mine to look like yours--at all!  Secondly I tried with Copics, but just didn't like the outcome so I decided to try distress inks and finally I was happy with it.
I found an image of a rock climber online and did a rough sketch out of Agent Cupcakes "mountain".  It's colored with Copics and could definitely have been improved upon.  It was part of the image I colored the clouds with Copics on so I just cut away the cloud part and attached it over the distress ink clouds.  Agent Cupcake is also cut out and raised on pop dots.  I used some hemp cord to attach over the  rope part of the image.  Thought it was a fun little extra.
I used my ancient Fiskar embossing plates for the braided texture on the bottom half of the card.  The little sign is a digi freebie I got from Lily's Art Creations last year.  I just printed it out at the size I needed, colored it with Copics, printed out my sentiment on the computer, cut it apart, and glued it onto the sign.
There are tons of ways to make clouds on your cards so grab the supplies you need for your style clouds and come join in the fun at Little Miss Muffet Challenge.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Digi Doodle Shop--anything goes
Paper Crafting Journey--use a digi (Agent Cupcake and the sign are digis)
Paper Shelter--anything goes
Scrapbook Sisters--anything goes
Simon Says Stamp--anything goes

Craft Your Passion--use kraft paper
Karen's Doodles--emboss it

Little Miss Muffet Guest Designer

Two week ago I was chosen as the random winner of a challenge at Little Miss Muffet Challenges.  I not only won some of Barbara's adorable stamps, but I was offered the opportunity to guest design for the upcoming challenge.

I love to guest design and having these cute images to work with sure did make it extra special.  Thank you so much Barbara!  If you don't know who Barbara is, pop over to her blog, Forgotten Scraps, and check out this ladies Copic skills.  I first discovered her through Make It Colourful--she's on the DT--and she has been a wonderful inspiration to me.
The new challenge this week is "Girly Girl".  What do you think?  Did I make it girly enough?  LOL  This is "Miss Peggy Sue Hatter" and she is brightening up the front of a criss cross envelope card.  Aren't those papers gorgeous!  They're from Kaisercraft.
Here's the inside tag of the card.  I just enlarged Peggy Sue's stylin' hat to snazz up the blank sentiment die cut.  Both images are done in Copics.

I'm sure Barbara and the girls at Little Miss Muffet would love to have you come join in the challenge this week.  Actually, the challenge runs for two weeks so you have plenty of time to get a girly girl creation entered.
I'd like to enter Peggy Sue into the following challenges:

Freshly Brewed--fancy folds
The Stamping Boutique--someone special
Tuesday Throwdown--think pink
Lexi's Creations--pink for boobies
Sweet Stampin'--stitching
Fairy Fun Fridays--sugar and spice and everything nice (girly)

     Be blessed!
