The Outlawz Copic Challenge Guest Designer #2

     This is my second card as the July Guest Designer at The Outlawz Copic Challenge,  when I saw the theme for this weeks challenge, I have to admit I cringed.  Monochromatic blue--YIKES!  Well it turned out to be a lot simpler than I thought.  I decided to use this beautiful image from Michelle Perkett and use lots of soft blues.  The papers are from K and Company's Julianne collection.  I think they are so pretty and I've barely touched the pad yet.  Yay!  Lots more card materials. :-)
     I'm sure the ladies on the Copic Challenge DT will welcome you with open arms if you'll come play along this week.  They really are a fun and supportive group so dig out all those blue parts and pieces and come join in the fun with us.

Papercraft Star Challenge #36

      Papercraft Star offers a spring color palette for this week's challenge.  I've been in a purple mood lately, so I picked out the purples to use on my card.  The image is called "Sisters of Spring" and is by Michelle Perkett.  It's colored with Copic markers.  This is my first attempt at the new craze of making "twisted" easel cards.  The picture makes it look like the bottom of my card is bent but it's not.  The bottom of my lightbox is rounded in the center and wouldn't let the card sit flat.  Have to see what I can do about that.
     Here's a closer pic of the image.  I think they're so pretty.

     Anyway, the card was a cinch to make.  The only difference between this and a regular easel is the direction of your score.  I've used some pretty floral papers from K & Company, added some fun rolled flowers and of course a little purple bling.

An enchanting fairy

     For a long time I have been just crazy about Michelle Perkett's images.  They looked like they would be so much fun to color.  However, I didn't know if I was quite up to tackling one of those gorgeous images.  I just couldn't pass them up again when they went on sale the earlier part of this week, so I bought a couple and decided to give it a whirl.  Now I have no illusions about my coloring on this card.  LOL  I'll keep practicing.  I promise {grin}.  And by the way, it was WAY fun to color! 
     Michelle has a weekly challenge blog for cards made with her stamps called Michelle Perkett Studio Design Challenge Blog, and this week just happened to be an open challenge so I'm going to enter my little experiment.  I also used one of the sketches from Midnight Madness this week, so I'd like to enter it there also.
     I probably should have made the card a little bigger.  It's a standard A2, which I very seldom make.  I like to have lots of room for embellishments, but, there it is.  I know the card base and mat for the image looks like it's black or brown but it's actually a dark olive green.
