Papercraft Star Challenge #15

This week's challenge at Papercraft Star was to create a project based upon or inspired by one of the wonders of the world.  Living on the Gulf Coast and having so much of my family's heritage tied up in the industries connected with it, draws me to the ocean.  So . . . my choice of inspiration wasn't a hard one--the Great Barrier Reef.  My husband and I have collected shells on our visits to Florida and Puerto Rico and I have some from a trip to Grand Cayman.  That little orange shell in the front is less than 1/2" long, and I have some that I keep in a matchbox because they are less than 1/4"!  God is an amazing creator!!
My card is very simple in design.  Layering and a wonderful vintage image of a conch shell I found at The Graphics Fairy make up the majority of the card.  I used the beautiful Martha Stewart Daisy Fan deep edge punch and then put a layer of white cardstock under it to make the coral colors pop out a little more.  The shell image was painted with some Glimmer Mist and the edges of the paper were distressed and inked.  I added some pearls, the oceans gems, and some seam binding I formed into a bow and sprayed with Glimmer Mist.  The sentiment was stamped with a little $1 set of Studio G clear alphabet stamps from Michaels or Joanns.

Supplies

Paper:  Bazzill, Great White Cardstock
Stamps:  Studio G
Inks:  Versafine Vintage Sepia, Tea Dye Distress Ink, Vanilla Breeze and Old Lace Glimmer Mist
Tools:  Martha Stewart  Daisy Fan deep edge punch, Heidi Swapp edge distresser
Miscellaneous:  Hug Snug Seam Binding, Recollections and Paper Studio pearls

You can submit your projects up until 12:00 noon EST tomorrow at the Papercraft Star blog.  Make sure you come back later and cast your votes for your faves!  This weeks sponsor is Viola's Boutique.  Oh my gosh, if you haven't checked this little etsy store out by all means go and look!  She has some GORGEOUS crocheted flowers perfect for any card or layout.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Is that the sea I hear? Oh no, it's the sound from my laptop, LOL! But I really thought I heard the rolling of the waves when I first saw your card! It's very pretty Tracy, take care, Ira
