Digi Doodle Shop's Best Challenge #38

This week's challenge at Digi Doodle Shop's Best is New Beginnings.  We're about to start a new year with new beginnings for what's ahead in 2011.  When I saw this stamp, "Nativity Scene", in the Digi Doodle Store I thought it fit right into our theme as one of the most blessed new beginnings ever, the birth of my Lord and Savior.
A while back I created a mini album with papers from the Graphic 45 Christmas Past collection.  It's a beautiful collection, but among all the traditional Christmas colors were a couple of sheets of blue and purple that my color coordinating OCD self just wouldn't allow me to include in the album.  However, they worked perfectly for this card.  There's layering and stacking, one of my handmade flowers that I colored to match with distress inks, and even a doily I created using a Martha Stewart corner punch, an embossing folder and a piece of regular copy paper.  More Copic practice (something I think I'm going to need hours at) and some chalking on the image.
We'd love to see your take on our theme of New Beginnings and don't forget that ALL the Christmas stamps are on sale for 50% off at the Digi Doodle Store!
Happy Thursday!

Such a beautiful card, Tracy and what a perfect image for the challenge! Really well done with the doily made with a corner punch - I haven't had the same success with this technique!
