The Kraft Journal Challenge #35

This weeks challenge at The Kraft Journal is to create a "Something Grand" project in honor of Grandparents Day.  Both sets of my grandparents have passed on, but we still have my husband's grandmother who will celebrate her 104th birthday in January.  When I thought about making a card for her I knew it had to be something stylish.  She is the quintessential southern belle!
The card base is Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock with a base mat of Buff Ivory Cover Weight cardstock.  The brown striped mat and fancy lady are both digital images from The House Across the Bay.  She's also matted on both the cardstock papers.  I printed out my sentiment on some Buff Ivory and cut it apart.  Around the center of the card there is some punchwork done with the Buff Ivory and a ribbon and bow created with 7 Gypsies Savannah seam binding.  To the bow I added two Jenni Bowlin Antique Stick pins.
Get those "grand" projects linked up by 6:00 p.m. on Sunday for your chance to win.  Don't forget to use kraft paper or a Kraft Outlet product on your project AND don't forget our Guest Designer Call that's going on through September 9th.
     Have a blessed Monday!

How utterly wonderful that your husband´s grandmother is still part of your lives. She must be able to tell the most wonderful stories! Your card is so very appropriate, it just has that elegant feel to it that a Grand Lady would certainly appreciate! Hugs, Ira
