Winter Chickadee in Sepia

Third post of the day so scroll down for my tea bag holder card tutorial for The Kraft Journal and my DT card for this weeks challenge at Papercraft Star.
If you all could see my kitchen table right now you would all run screaming in fear.  LOL  It's covered in mounds of crafting supplies because for some silly reason I decided to start working on four different cards at the same time!  :-)  I have managed to complete two of them, just havent' put away all the supplies, which is usually a must for me before I start a new project.  Of course I don't normally start four at a time either.  LOL
Last week I was so thrilled and honored to have been chosen as the Guest Designer for the next upcoming challenge over at Suzanne Dean's Color Me Creative Classroom Copic Challenge with my little scalloped Fall Greetings card.  So you'll be seeing that project at the end of the month when that new challenge starts.  I had to attempt a new technique for the assignment that I've been wanting to try for a while and I'm pretty pleased with how it came out.  Now I just have to put the rest of the card together.  :-)
Anyway, I decided to play along again with this weeks challenge which is a technique I have tried before, but don't consider myself very adept at--monochromatic with a pop of color.  Actually the challenge is to use black and white or sepia tones with a pop to mimic an old timey photo.
For my card I used a base of black and used a decorative corner punch I had to create a frame with an antique feel around my center panel.  The patterned paper is a new 7 Gypsies purchase I made during Hobby Lobby's awesome 50% off paper sale this week.  I added a little Frayed Burlap distress ink to tone done the white in the pattern.  The sweet little bird was die cut using a new Nestie I just got.  It's edges are inked with the Frayed Burlap also.  The image is all Copics with a little Shapie white paint pen for the shine on the berries.  I probably should have done a few thing a little differently on the birdie, but I'm not touching it now.  LOL  Leave well enough alone--right?  :-)
So this is a for fun card and I'd like to enter it in these challenges:

The Sisterhood of Crafters--for the birds
Party Time Tuesday--sketch OR monochromatic
The Shabby Tea Room--vintage white
Scrappy Frogs--vintage
Sugar Creek Hollow--fancy borders

Hope you're having a great week!

Hehehe I'm always working on several cards among other projects at the same time! Oh I know what you mean about a mound! I guess it's my short attention span. Then I'll get all overwhelmed by my hot mess and can't focus on anything else until I'm organized again. Lol darn vicious cycle, I do love it though!
Your card is fabulous! Can't wait to see what else you were working on ;)
Kindest regards,
Jennifer
