Thanks a mushroom

     I bought this Reverse Confetti tag die during Black Friday sales and couldn't wait to use it.  I've stamped this gorgeous mushroom from Purple Onion Designs onto some watercolor paper and used my Distress inks to color it.  I first tried using my Derwent watercolor pencils, but I just couldn't get the richness of color you get with the Distress inks.  I used my Krylon gold leafing pen to go around the edge of the tag.  I also added a drop shadow to the sentiment with some gray ink.

     Can't believe 2019 is almost here.  Wonder what this year will hold.

Farm Christmas ornaments

     First off I'll apologize for the terrible pictures.  The light sources in my house are awful.

     I've used some of the critters from the latest Purple Onion Designs release to make some ornaments for my little birch tree.

     Each ornament is a shaker and has a little Christmas greenery to dress it up.

Winter treat bags

     The great sale at Purple Onion Designs is still going on if you haven't had a chance to shop yet.

     I've used a couple of the winter critters to make some little treat bags.  These are super simple.  There are some dies out there that will actually cut the bags out for you but I don't have any so I used a great tutorial from Split Coast Stampers you can find here.

More Christmas tags

     I'm back today with some more tags using Purple Onion Designs.  Don't forget the sale is stilling going on.

     For this tag I used an embossing folder on the tag base, then I colored and fussy cut three separate stamped images and created the little scene.

     For the second tag I also used an embossing folder, colored and fussy cut the images and added them to the tag with a twine string.

     For the third tag I stamped the tree line onto the tag base and colored with Copics.  I added snow to them with a white gel pen.  The sky was lightly inked with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide.  For the snow on the bottom I stamped the tree line onto a piece of Stick-it Double Sided Adhesive sheet and cut out along the base of the tree line.  The adhesive was then added to the tag, the protective sheet removed and ultra fine glitter was burnished onto the adhesive.  The deer was fussy cut and popped up on foam.  I then watered down a little white acrylic paint and splattered the whole tag for a snowy scene.

     These were really fun to make and easy too.

     I've created a couple of Christmas tags using some of Stacey Yacula's winter critters.  For the backgrounds I used the Winter Noteblock Stamp.  I stamped it in Versamark then added white embossing powder.  After melting the powder I used a couple of Distress Oxide inks to add some ombre color.

The sweetest holiday

     Sharing a few more of the brand new Stacey Yacula release stamps from Purple Onion Designs today.

     For this card I used the large barn door stamp.  It was stamped twice and I fussy cut the whole door out and popped it up on foam.  There is a set of sign accessories.  I used one on the top of the swing door.  There is also a set of barn accessories.  I fussy everything and popped them up on foam.  For the sign and lantern I added a "nail" for them to hang on with a brad.

     Don't for get that the sale on the whole collection runs through October 31st.

Sparkler bear

     Jennifer McGuire comes up with some of the best tutorials for new and old card designs.  This one is an oldie called a Peek-a-boo card.  The circles look offset in the photo but they actually line up perfectly.  The card just wouldn't stay fully closed for the photograph.

Flora says thanks

     I just love Stacey Yacula's little owls for Purple Onion Designs.  This one's name is Flora and I've created an inked background with some gold splatters for her.  I didn't have any yellow oxide inks so my Scattered Straw Distress ink came out a bit heavy on the left hand side.

     I had purchased some SSS Fog grey ink a while back with the intention of trying a little shadow stamping on some of the larger sentiments I have.  Finally got around to it and I like how it turned out.  Wish I would have left the stamp in my Misti though, cause I needed to re-stamp the black on the part over the Distress inking.  Not sure why the grey shows up more on there but it does.

     For today's card I have used Purple Onion Designs adorable Rosie.  She's been done in Distress inks and given a background of a wash of purple and some splatters of the same plus some gold watercolor paint.

     I have a card to share today made with stamps from the awesome Purple Onion Designs.  Blueberry the bear and Buttercup the bunny have met up in the forest to wish someone a day full of joy.

     Blueberry and Buttercup are both popped up with some foam tape, but I also stamped the trees again and fussy cut three of them to pop up for some more dimension.

     Everything was colored with Prismacolor pencils and the image panel was trimmed and added to a white card base.
