Penguin friends

Hope all my American friends enjoyed your Thanksgiving holidays.  We're on the downhill slide into Christmas now.  These penguin friends from Art Impressions Penguin Cheer set are making preparations already.

     I hand cut the mountains for the background and added a little inking behind them and at the foot of them behind the treeline.  I added some Twinklets glitter to the trees for snow.

Sleigh ride

     I tried a few different techniques on this card using Art Impressions Sleigh Ride Circlet MTF set.  I hand drew the frame on the front panel with a ruler and colored in the corners.  

     After making the tri-fold card with the images, I just attached it to the top of a plain white panel with the red scalloped mat.  You can write a short note on the inside of the card or turn the whole thing over and write on the entire backside.  

     The holly branch and berries were made using the Die Cutting Napkins tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers.  It's a really cool tutorial so check it out.  

     Basically you die cut your image through eight layers of napkin which is kind of fused together in the cutting process and then you color it with watercolors.  The napkin sort of plumps up with this cool texture.

     I used my Prismas for the coloring.  You can see some of that napkin texture here.

Farm Christmas ornaments

     First off I'll apologize for the terrible pictures.  The light sources in my house are awful.

     I've used some of the critters from the latest Purple Onion Designs release to make some ornaments for my little birch tree.

     Each ornament is a shaker and has a little Christmas greenery to dress it up.

More Christmas tags

     I'm back today with some more tags using Purple Onion Designs.  Don't forget the sale is stilling going on.

     For this tag I used an embossing folder on the tag base, then I colored and fussy cut three separate stamped images and created the little scene.

     For the second tag I also used an embossing folder, colored and fussy cut the images and added them to the tag with a twine string.

     For the third tag I stamped the tree line onto the tag base and colored with Copics.  I added snow to them with a white gel pen.  The sky was lightly inked with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide.  For the snow on the bottom I stamped the tree line onto a piece of Stick-it Double Sided Adhesive sheet and cut out along the base of the tree line.  The adhesive was then added to the tag, the protective sheet removed and ultra fine glitter was burnished onto the adhesive.  The deer was fussy cut and popped up on foam.  I then watered down a little white acrylic paint and splattered the whole tag for a snowy scene.

     These were really fun to make and easy too.

Christmas tags and a Purple Onion Designs SALE!

     Can you hear it????  All those wallets screaming as we crafters totally enjoy ourselves going shopping for Black Friday deals.  LOL

     I've created a couple of Christmas tags using some of Stacey Yacula's winter critters.  For the backgrounds I used the Winter Noteblock Stamp.  I stamped it in Versamark then added white embossing powder.  After melting the powder I used a couple of Distress Oxide inks to add some ombre color.

Christmas birds

     Today I'm sharing my last card make from the new Christmas clear stamp sets from Art Impressions.  I still have plenty of other new sets to showcase, but they aren't Christmas stamps.

     I think this is my favorite of all the holiday cards I've shared.  I really had fun making this one.  I've used the Snow Friend Set.

     I inked the tag in different places to create the sky background.  I die cut the branch from white cards stock and used a grey Copic to color the bottom part leaving the top white for snow.  There's also some Stickles on there.

     Then I went to work with the stamp set.  All the images are in the set.  I did a lot of fussy cutting.  The birds and the bow on the birdhouse are popped up on foam.  The holly berried were covered in Glossy Accents.  Before I added the birds I did some splattering with some watered down white acrylic paint.

     I think the majority of the people I know would like to be  headed somewhere sunny so I'm a bit jealous of this lady.  Art Impressions Pack Your Bags set will have you ready to pack YOUR bags.  If it's by boat or plane they've got cha covered.

Penguin Christmas Pal

Sharing another sneaky peek from Stamping Bella today.  This is Maggie with penguin from Mo Manning.  For my card I used some die cut trees and snow banks to created a background.  A little white ink was sponged on the trees for a snow effect.
