A Priscilla Pie Birthday
Isn't she beautiful! She reminds me so much of my daughter, except for the blue eyes. :-) This week at The Kraft Journal we want you to find a great sketch and put it to work. There are several places on the web you can go to find collections of sketches. Here are a few: CPS Sketches, Card Pattern Sketches, I Need a Sketch, IC Sketches. The sketch I used is an old CLP sketch seen here:
The image is Priscilla Pie from Saturated Canary. I LOVE coloring these cuties. I actually did this one twice. I did her in blue and green and it just didn't match the papers, which were already cut, so I redid her in aqua and yellow. If you're having a deja vu moment, you probably saw Bev Rochester's gorgeous card with this same image this past week. Honest to goodness I wasn't copying her. Those colors just went with my papers perfectly. It's not like I'm up to Bev's coloring standards anyway. I mean just take a peek at her much better coloring of the folds in Priscilla's dress. :-) I was VERY happy with my second go around with her hair though. I'm getting better with the highlights. A lot of the time the actual shape of the hair causes me trouble. Oh well, the learning process is fun. :-)
So, I started with a base card of Light Kraft Cover Weight cardstock and then added some colorful DP from My Mind's Eye. I'm a serious My Mind's Eye junkie people!
Now this is a really special card because I actually got my hubby to help me with it. Nope, he didn't color, and he can't understand why I would want to waste so much paper doing all those layers. LOL
I wanted a wonky ring. See that kraft paper circle behind my image; the one that's tied down with eyelets and Pastel Hemp Cord. Well I got hubby to sit down at the table with me and draw me out an offset circle with a compass. Now he's a pretty smart cookie. He's worked as a piping contractor for years so he has lots of experience reading mechanical blueprints with all kinds of funky shapes and measurements. He pointed out that ideally I needed an "offset circle die"---uh huh??? Since I wasn't well equipped enough to own one of those ;-) he had to do it by hand with the compass which meant physically changing the depth of the circle as he was drawing it. He drew inner and outer circles and I was pretty darned impressed when I pulled out my largest circle Nestie and it was almost a perfect match! LOL This will probably be his one and only foray into craftiness. :-)
Find a sketch you like and come play along with us. There are some top spots AND a chance at some Kraft Outlet goodies up for grabs each week.

Tiny blessings
Weren't expecting anything from me on a Saturday were you. LOL Well I have another card to share using one of the images from the monthly Club Kit from A Day For Daisies. You can find out all the details about the club kit here. This image is called "Flowers For Her". I colored it with Copics and chalked around the image. The papers are My Mind's Eye and my favorite Light Kraft from The Kraft Outlet.
Lots of stitching on here and I gave the kraft tabs some dimension and depth by popping them up on foam. To keep them from bowing I scored them flush with the edge and 1/8" more. That allowed me to have them lay flat and then fold around to the back with a nice flat edge. It looks pretty cool and I hope you can see what I'm talking about easily in the photo below.
The sentiment is another fantastic freebie from Create with TLC. I don't do very many masculine cards and I guess this isn't really all that masculine but I'm happy how it turned out. No frou frous is tough! LOL
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Clearly Inspired--spring
Crafts 4 Eternity Recipe Challenge--spring
Crafty Ann's--stitching, real or faux
Moving Along With the Times--garden or flowers
The Outlawz Twisted Thursday--anything goes plus flowers

Have a fabulous weekend!

One ringy dingy, two ringy dingy
If you know what my title is talking about then you're old as dirt like me. LOL Just kidding. :-) I was just a little kid when Laugh In used to be on television, but I have no trouble at all remembering Lily Tomlin doing the switchboard lady Ernestine with her lips pouched and that nasally voice and snort. There was no way I couldn't remember that when I saw this image.
This is "How May I Direct Your Call" from this weeks new release from A Day For Daisies. There are some really cool antique phones in there too. This also marks the beginning of a new challenge for us at the ADFD blog. This time we want to see calico on your creations. Wishes in the wind
It's Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge time, and this week our hostess, Miz Pat, wants us to use our fave color combos. I love to mix brown with soft pinks, blues and greens, so I used pink for this cute little dandelion blower called "Wishes". You can find her in Mo's Store.
I used a sketch from Bird's the Word that is actually supposed to be for a scrapbook page, but I adapted it for this card. I used Copics and Prismas on the image, added tons of pearls and those adorable little fish tail banners for embellishments.
Hope you'll come and join us with your favorite color combo and a Mo's image for your chance at winning a $5.00 gift certificate to Mo's store. She'll give one away for every twenty five entries.
The voting is still going on over at the Fashionista Challenge if you'd care to pop in and place a vote for my card. Alyce is still leading the pack and kicking my butt royally. LOL She's a sweetheart though so I don't mind, plus her card is WAAAYYYYY awesome. Thanks to those of you who've voted for me already.

Pretty in a pink ribbon
Polka dots! That's what we want to see this week at Papercraft Star. I've used another great image from Saturated Canary called "Boobie Love". Leave it to Krista. LOL This was a freebie a few weeks ago and since my friend Jennifer has been on my mind lately, I decided to use this image for a card. Jen's really having a rough go of it with her treatment so please continue to keep her in your prayers.
This week our fearless leader Jan has got a great vintage style card to showcase some dig image sheets from our sponsor, The House Across the Bay, so make sure you pop over to the PCS blog and check her card, and the other DT member projects out.
Hope to see you in the entries! You have until 6:00 a.m. EST Monday to get linked up.

All my rowdy friends
Does this include you? :-) Don't say no, cause I can name off several of you who qualify. LOL Yes, that includes you, TTT DT member Lisa!
Last week I was asked by the ladies at Top Tip Tuesday to be a guest designer for them when my "Blueberry Girl" won their "Caught Our Eye" spot for the last challenge.
Nothing elaborate here. I covered the cover with kraft paper, then matted with some fun green plaid. The image was printed on kraft and colored with Prisma's and OMS. A little sewing, computer generated sentiment, and a couple of layered Prima flowers with a button for the finishing touches.
So pop over to the Top Tip Tuesday challenge blog, check out all the DT examples and play along with anything but a card. :-)
I discovered last night that I had been picked as one of the Top Five at the new Fashionista Challenge blog. They are doing something kind of cool by allowing the public to vote a People Choice Award winner from the five top picks. If you remember my sweet little Easter card with Murray from Saturated Canary here and liked it, I'd love for you to pop over there and vote for me. If it's not one of your faves then maybe you'd like to vote for my buddy Alyce's gorgeous Elven Samaneh. My Aussie friend has mad coloring skills. :-)
I'd like to enter my little notebook into the following challenges:
Crafting For All Seasons--anything but a card
Simon Says Stamp--anything goes
Creative Craft Challenges 2--let's see some animal antics

Yum, yum cupcakes
It's a "Just for Kids" challenge this week at The Kraft Journal. My mojo was on short order when I made this card so it's pretty plain and simple.
I started with a base of Brown kraft Cover Weight cardstock and matted it with Buff Ivory Cover Weight cardstock and designer papers. I added a punched border of the Buff Ivory and ran a line of Dark Jewel Hemp Cord along the top. The image is a cutie patootie Bugaboo piggy with cupcakes that I colored with Copics and matted on more Brown Kraft. For the sentiment I layered the two cardstocks and added a button from my stash tied with Hang Tag String.
Hope you'll pop over to The Kraft Journal blog and check out the other DT projects and then come join in our fun.
Happy Monday!

Vintage roses
Grrr! Is anyone else having trouble with blogger? This is the third prescheduled post I've had that didn't post when it was supposed to. Oh well, here it is. :-)
The Catered Crop is one of my favorite challenges to play. The last challenge was brads and I was lucky enough to have my "Young Jack Sparrow" card chosen as one of the top picks. Those picks get to be Guest Chefs and post a inspiration card for the midpoint of the next challenge. This marks my third Guest Chef spot (YAY!!!) and since Linda's challenges are always fun how could I not want to play along. :-) Thanks Linda!!!!! The new challenge is kraft. Hmmmm??? Don't see much of that around here do ya? LOL
I'm still on the fence about whether I like this card or not. I'm afraid I got a little carried away with the flowers and they've overpowered the image. I've used a beautiful vintage image from A Day For Daisies and colored it with Prismas. My kraft coloring hero and friend, Dorcas, who by the way is a member of the Catered Crop DT, recently did another wonderful coloring tutorial on skin and I'm afraid I have failed the lesson miserably. Sorry teach. :-( I do believe this lady might be a member of the Cullen family. LOL Bit on the pale side isn't she. :-) I think I need a few more skin tone pencils in my collection.
I also tried casing an idea from my wonderful friend Geri. You can take a look at her card here. I was trying to match her die cut and matching tabs but as you can see I got things a bit backwards. I needed the negative image for the side panels instead of matching ones. I didn't want to waste the paper so I left it alone. Lesson learned for next time. :-)
So break out your kraft paper and pop over to the Catered Crop to get in on Linda's fun challenge.
Thank you to everyone who prayed for hubby and I and sent well wishes. We are both much better. We even canceled his orthopedic appointment because his foot got so much better. Keep those prayers coming that he will recover 100%. The man spends 99% of his day on his feet and he is not one to sit still.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Fairy Fun Fridays--anything with flowers
Fat Pages and Cards with Attitude--anything goes/faces
Fussy and Fancy--punches/dies

Peace and comfort
The new releases this week are all about "Little". In my case, I chose to use "Little Bo's Sheep", but there is a Little Dancer and a Little Fish as well as other cuties.
I'll go ahead and apologize for the next several posts you'll see from me. This has been an awful week for me. I started it off sick and still have some leftover ickiness. I pulled something in my knee, so I'm hobbling everywhere, which just makes me a perfect match to my poor hubby who seems to have acquired a stress fracture in the top of his left foot. Tomorrow will make his third trip to the doc this week, this time an orthopedist. I love him to death, but I find it almost impossible to do anything crafty when he's home. So between all the running around and extra time he's been home, my cardmaking mojo has went into hiding and what's managed to make it's way onto my cards just ain't nothin' to write home about. I still have one more DT card to get made and two guestie cards so hopefully things will get better for those.
Okay, enough whining. :-) I used Distress inks to color Bo and her flock, thought I'd never find papers to match her. LOL This one got worked backwards with me doing the image first. I added a little Snow Cap paint dabber around the edges of all the DP and on the sentiment and made a bow using the technique I learned from my wonderful PCS team mate Jinny Newlin. (Yes, I know. Hers look MUCH better!)
So pop over to the ADFD store to check out all the new releases and don't forget we still have our "Feather" challenge going on at the ADFD blog.
I'd like to enter Bo into the following challenges:
Paper Crafting Journey--3 or more patterned papers
Creative Card Crew--kraft
Oldie but a Goodie--on the farm or in the garden (dies, OA paper, ribbon, inks)
Jackson Digital Expressions--sketch
Have a wonderful stress and pain free weekend! LOL

Whimsy and Stars Studio New Releases
This is "Amelie" and she is one of the new releases from Mabelle R. O. at Whimsy and Stars Studio. Today is a special day because Mabelle has decided to make this new release day a fun little party. Each member of the Whimsy and Stars DT has created a special card using one of the new images so you'll want to check them each out. You need to hop over to the Whimsy and Stars Studio blog and make sure you leave a comment there. You see Mabelle is going to be picking five random winners from those comments to each receive one digi from either the new releases or the other images in her etsy store. Winners will be announced April 24th. Also, everyone who purchases $6.00 or more worth of Mabelle's stamps will receive a cute little freebie called "Blooming Bouquet".
For my card I've used some beautiful My Mind's Eye papers and paired them with some cream cardstock for accent. Amelie is colored with Copics and a little bit of Prismas and most everything on the card got a bit of inking with Distress inks. My sentiment is another fun one from Create with TLC.
Come join us in the fun! Mabelle has some more exciting news and surprised coming up in the next couple of weeks so stay tuned for more info!
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Creative Monday's--yellow and sunshine
Lexi's Creations--use your punches and dies
Be blessed!

A beam of sunlight from God
Wow! Can you believe it's Thursday already? This week has flown by and I don't feel like I've gotten a thing done. I am feeling much better so hopefully I can get back on track.
Our amazing Pat has picked a theme of "Flowers" for us this week at Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge. I chose to use this adorable "Heidi" image. She's colored in Copics. I used a scrap of Prima flower trim across the middle and some more Prima e-line flowers to go along with all the daisies in her apron and hair. The sentiment is from Create with TLC. My team mate Carla has gotten me hooked on Paulette's wonderful and witty little words. :-)
You can find "Heidi" in Mo's old store here and lots of other stamps in the new store. Hope you'll come and play along with us this week. Mo's giving away a $5.00 gift certificate for every twenty five entries.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Aud Sentiments--spring or summer colors
Use It Tuesdays--anything goes (Prima flowers and trim)
Karen's Doodles--something spring
Paper Sundaes--anything goes
Be blessed!

Can-can!
Our challenge this week at Papercraft Star is to do something "French". I had gone back and forth for I don't know how long before I broke down and purchased Elizabeth J. from Make It Crafty. She's a bit out of my usual style, but those ruffles! I wanted to color those ruffles so badly. LOL The camera didn't pick up the shading as well as I would have liked and I think I needed to go in with another darker red layer before calling it quits, but here she is in all her ruffled glory. She's far from perfect, but she was fun to experiment with.
I used a Ranger manila tag for my base. I put some Tea Dye distress ink on my craft sheet and drug the tag through it. I used some TH stamps with Fired Brick and Vintage Photo inks to create a background on the tag and brushed gold Perfect Pearls over the wet inks for a bit of sparkle.
The next layer is a vintage postcard digital image created by my friend, Dawn at LilyPinkScraps. She had offered this as a freebie over at The Outlawz and I thought it was perfect for my tag. I changed the color a bit and printed it out on some Light Kraft Text Weight paper from Kraft Outlet. The paper is really cool and after I crumbled it up it kind of felt like soft leather. I inked it with Old Paper and Vintage photo, then tore the upper right corner and threaded some waxed linen thread across the tear. I added a brad and fan charm also.
The little heart is a chipboard piece from Michaels that I covered in Perfect Medium and more of the gold Perfect Pearls. I dyed some white seam binding with Fired Brick and Aged Mahogany Distress inks and colored a snippet of lace with the Vintage Photo.
Last but not least is Miss Elizabeth in all her Copic colored glory. Like I said, not perfect, but oh so fun to color. :-)
Our sweet Jinny is showcasing images from our sponsor, The House Across the Bay, this week so make sure you check out her card along with the rest of the DT creations over at the PCS blog and come play along with our "French " challenge. Oui!
I'd like to enter my tag into the following challenges:

A thank you from Lilly
Now that's a kitty face anybody would love. :-) This sweet little kitty is Lilly, one of Mabelle's cuties from Whimsy and Stars Studio. I've colored her with Prismas on kraft and made her a pretty little girly card to live on. You can find Lilly in the Whimsy and Stars Studio etsy store and guess what! On Thursday Mabelle will be releasing some brand new digi stamps.
Sure hope you'll come and join in the fun. I'll have a card posted here, but you'll need to go to the Whimsy and Stars Studio blog to see ALL the wonderful cards being created by the DT. PLUS, that's where the candy will be!!! Yep, I said CANDY! Mabelle will be giving away some goodies so don't miss out.
Unfortunately my cold has morphed into something more than just a sore throat and I haven't felt much like doing anything. My plan is to attack the mountain of comments and email that I've let pile up from all of you tonight (Monday) so hopefully I can get back on track tomorrow and be up to speed. If I don't make it to you before this posts I'll get there I promise. :-)
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Pollycraft Monday--cute critters
Polka Doodles--pretty in pink
Have a wonderful Tuesday!

A beary happy birthday
Our challenge this week at The Kraft Journal is to "Use Your Stash". My stash is ridiculous if truth be told. I don't even know half of what I have and the sad thing is I keep buying more. LOL Mostly paper and dies but they still add to the pile. :-)
So for this card I dug into my stash of Kraft Outlet supplies and came up with this tag pocket card. This may look like a simple card, but I'm telling you it was a major ordeal. Not because its hard, but because it took me forever to decide what I was going to make! :-) It's a simple criss cross card fold with a tag insert and I've used some cute birthday bears from Sassy Cheryl's.
Here are the card deets. I started with a base of Light Kraft Cover Weight cardstock and matted it with Bazzill and My Mind's Eye DP. I did some machine stitching and added a couple of punched borders from Buff Ivory Cover Weight cardstock and that's pretty much the main part of the card. The balloons are three White Round Metal Edge tags that I colored with Copics. I added some little punched and Stickled stars and a wee bit of white gel pen and then I tied all the tag strings together with some Red Baker's Twine. The sentiment was printed on the Light Kraft and I added some buttons tied with Hang Tag String to the ends.
You can see the insert in the following picture. It's really plain and simple, just layers papers and the top edge is punched.
Hope you'll join us for this week's challenge. Each time you play you get a chance at winning this months $15.00 voucher from Kraft Outlet and a shot at Top Three or Feature Me Friday. So grab that kraft paper or Kraft Outlet supplies and come play along.

Bunny takes a flight
Hey ya'll! Yes, I'm so worn down with this cold I've got that I've even reverted to speaking my native Twang. :-) I thought I was coming down with the nasty stomach virus my daughter was up with at three in the morning Thursday. Managed to avoid that, but spent all day yesterday with a sore throat. Started taking cold meds last night and that's gotten rid of the sore throat, but I haven't been worth a plug nickel all day. Managed to squeak out two CAS cards this morning before I gave up.
This card was made using one of the images from this months A Day For Daisies Club kit. It's called "Bunny Birthday and you can find out all about the club kit here.
Like I said, CAS. The balloons were colored with Copics, the bunny has a very small amount of grey and pink pencil and then I chalked around the bunny and balloon.
Man, all this typing has pooped me out again. LOL Hope you're having a better Saturday than me.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Digital Tuesday--birthdays
Incy Wincy--cute critters
Be blessed!

Life is a fairytale
I'd give anything to draw a good stick figure. Tammy doesn't have that problem does she. LOL This week's release from A Day For Daisies is a group of beautiful ladies with birdies decorating their hair. This image is called "Braid In My Hair" and can be found with the others in the ADFD store.
I did the image in Distress inks first, but thought the colors needed to be bolder with the papers I'd chosen. So I brought out the Copics and used the Distress inks on everything else. LOL I used lots of foam too. The musical mat, black and oval die cut panel, and the image are all popped up on foam. Guess you can tell I had fun making those roses on yesterday's card too. I just had to add some more to this one. :-) The sentiment is from Create with TLC.
This release marks the start of a new challenge at the ADFD blog and our challenge is to add a feather or two. I've got three little fluffy ones tucked in behind my flowers. We'd love to have you come play along.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Chocolate, Coffee, and Cards--pearls and lace

I see spots! Do you? LOL I sure hope so cause that's our wonderful Debbie's challenge this week at Mo's Digital Pencil. I've chosen to use "Blueberry Girl" on my card. Blueberries are kind of dots aren't they. LOL Well, even if you don't want to count the blueberries, there are plenty of other dots on this card on the DP and just in case that wasn't enough, I've added a ton of little ones to her shirt. Here's a close up.
I think I've got the challenge covered, don't you? :-) You can find "Blueberry Girl" plus a LOT more amazing Mo images in the store so pop over and browse. When you're done you can come back to the DP2 challenge blog and add your entry for this week's challenge. Mo's giving away a $5.00 gift voucher for every twenty-five entries.

For Jennifer
(Note: Don't forget the freebie I mentioned in yesterday's post from Whimsy and Stars Studio. You do not have to be a Facebook subscriber to get the image. Just go to the blog link I gave for all the details)
Our challenge this week at Papercraft Star is "Umbrellas". Well it just happened to work out that I was creating a very special card for a very special lady and it had umbrellas all over it. :-)
If you've spent anytime playing challenges you probably recognize the name Jennifer Scull of Just Coffee.....& Stamps, & Ribbons, Paper. I was blessed to be able to call her team mate at A Day For Daisies for a while and to call her friend even longer. This sweet lady recently underwent surgery to remove a large tumor in her breast and is now undergoing chemo therapy. Even before her bout with cancer, she suffered from migraines, seizures, and tremors, but she's never complained, just trusted in God to help her deal with any and all of it. Her beautiful attitude and Christian spirit have been such a blessing to me. She's a real sweetheart and can count lots and lots of friends among our card making community. If you picked up that adorable Saturated Canary freebie Krista offered recently, you probably saw her name mentioned there and although she's not feeling up to crafting much lately, you can still find her name on the DT and administrative rosters for several challenge blogs. Regardless of whether you know her or not, I know she'd appreciate your prayers so keep her in your thoughts please. :-)
When we were on the ADFD DT together Jennifer used a lot of corrugated cardboard on her projects. I was always amazed at how she could work a piece in no matter what she was making. LOL This card is made with some of her trademark cardboard as well as some fun bright colors. Her cards are always cheerful and bright.
The sentiment on the front reads "You may be under a cloud now," and finishes on the inside of the card "but the Son is shining through you." Her Christian testimony has been so uplifting to me and I hope you can see it too. :-)
So that's how this special umbrella card came to be made. We'd love to see what you can come up with. Make sure you pop over to the PCS blog and check out all the DT projects. Our wonderful Sylvia will have something awesome to show you using images from our sponsor, The House Across the Bay.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Oldie But a Goodie--April showers (brad, Stickles, punch, ribbon, cheesecloth)
Papertake Weekly--April showers
Twisted Tuesdays--flowers but no roses or rosettes
Digi Makeover--bright colors
Paper Playtime--use and umbrella plus a die cut
Victorine Originals--April Showers
Inspired By--photo inspiration
Crafting For All Seasons--April Showers
Happy Wednesday and be blessed!

Love is Friendship
I've got another sweet Whimsy and Stars Studio card for you today. Mabelle's images just make me smile. Hope they make you smile too. :-) If you're not a follower of the W&SS blog, make sure you pop over there today and check out the great Tuesday showcase Mabelle will have up today. Projects from all the DT members will be on the blog.
This image is called "Spring Boy and Girl". Cute couple huh! :-) I've colored them with Copics and Prismas and cut them out for a little different look. I've used some of the bits and pieces of 12 x 12 sheets of MME's Mabel collection I have left. The sentiment is one I've had a long time from Raindrop Echo Designs when they used to offer them as freebies on the Sentimental Sunday challenge blog.
Also, you can mark your calendars that tomorrow Mabelle will be giving away a freebie on her Facebook and Facebook fan pages. You can find links for both of those on the W&SS blog. Just look at her. Isn't she a doll! (Note: You do not have to be a Facebook subscriber to get the freebie. Just click on the blog link I gave you and you'll find all the info on how to get Rosie)
Back tomorrow with a VERY special DT card that was sent to a VERY special person.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
The Pink Elephant--flowers
Dream Valley Challenges--wedding/love
Allsorts--color BINGO (kraft/stripes/yellow)
Challenge Up Your life--color palette
Deconstructed Sketch--sketch
Be blessed!
