Last week I was asked by the ladies at
Top Tip Tuesday to be a guest designer for them when my "Blueberry Girl" won their "Caught Our Eye" spot for the last challenge.
This week's challenge is "Anything but a Card" and their sponsor is
Robyn's Fetish. I knew I had this adorable RF image that I wanted to use, but I wasn't sure WHAT I was going to make. The more I looked at the image, the more that old Hank Williams, Jr. song kept running through my head. I mean these guys look like their having a good ole time don't they. :-) Well the friends theme got me thinking of keeping in touch and I decided I would make a little notebook for email and snail mail addresses. I've seen so many cute altered notebooks and journals so I set off to Michaels to scour the $1 bins for an easy to alter book. I wanted to find one that I could easily take the cover off of and found this cute spiral one. I actually bought two of these. The first one had red wire and pink pages which REALLY clashed with my image after I finished the cover. LOL I went back to see if they had a green one. No green wire, but yellow wire and green pages. Much better. :-)
Nothing elaborate here. I covered the cover with kraft paper, then matted with some fun green plaid. The image was printed on kraft and colored with Prisma's and OMS. A little sewing, computer generated sentiment, and a couple of layered Prima flowers with a button for the finishing touches.
